Xylitol Sweetener

Sugarless candies or baked goods containing the sweetener Xylitol can cause liver damage and death in dogs and cats. Some research has shown that as little as three grams (five pieces of gum) can kill a 65 pound dog. Prompt veterinary care is critical.
